BEST WAY DOWNTOWN:
The airport is eight miles (13 km) southwest of downtown Philadelphia. The Philadelphia Visitors Center is located at 16th and JFK, next to the Suburban Station.
The airport's Web site has both a terminal map and an area map. .
SEPTA's high speed rail line connects the airport and the city center. Trains leave every half hour from 5:25 A.M. to 11:25 P.M. and go to all three Philadelphia stations: 30th St., Suburban Station (at 16th and JFK), and Market East (11th and Market). The airport station is very convenient and is just across the street from the baggage claim area. The trip takes 25 minutes to the center and the fare is about $5 one-way.
Taxis are available just outside the arrivals area. Fare is metered and will cost from $20-25 to the downtown area. Travel time is about 20 to 30 minutes.
There are many shuttle companies serving the airport. Courtesy phones to book them are located in the baggage claim area. You can also try SuperShuttle at 800-BLUE-VAN. The shuttles stop just outside the baggage claim area and serve all parts of town, especially the downtown area. The fare to the center is about $8-$10, and the trip takes from 20 to 30 minutes. These companies also have sedans and stretch limousines if you want to ride in more style.
All major rental car companies have counters at the airport and most have offices in the central downtown area.
